About the Journal

Journal of Sports Science Academy (JOSSA) is an international, peer-reviewed, open access scholarly journal that aims to advance and disseminate scientific knowledge and support interdisciplinary academic discussion in the field of sport and exercise sciences.

JOSSA is published twice a year, in March and September, through the end of 2026. Beginning in 2027, the journal will adopt a continuous publication model, under which manuscripts that have successfully completed peer review and editorial processing will be published online as soon as they are ready for publication.

The journal accepts original research articles, review articles, and case studies in areas including exercise physiology, training science and sports performance, nutrition, sport and exercise psychology, biomechanics and movement science, sports injuries, sports medicine and rehabilitation, sport management and policy, performance and data analysis, physical activity and healthy living, physical literacy, digital technologies, and other interdisciplinary fields related to sport sciences.

JOSSA is committed to the principles of scientific integrity, publication ethics, transparency, impartiality, and reliability. Manuscripts considered suitable for external review are evaluated by independent experts through a double-anonymous (double-blind) peer-review process.

The journal accepts manuscripts in both English and Turkish. However, in order to enhance the international accessibility, visibility, readership, and scientific impact of published research, authors are strongly encouraged to submit their manuscripts in English whenever possible.

Through its open access publishing model, JOSSA supports the free and unrestricted global dissemination of scientific knowledge and seeks to promote international and interdisciplinary collaboration among researchers, practitioners, and other stakeholders in sport and exercise sciences.
