About the Journal

The Journal of Sports Science Academy (JOSSA) is an international, peer-reviewed, open access scholarly journal dedicated to the advancement and dissemination of scientific knowledge in sport and exercise sciences.

JOSSA publishes original, methodologically rigorous, and ethically conducted research that contributes to the development of knowledge and practice in sport, exercise, physical activity, and human movement sciences.

The journal applies a double-anonymous (double-blind) peer-review process and is committed to scientific integrity, editorial responsibility, transparency, open access, and responsible scholarly communication.

JOSSA is published semiannually, in March and September, through the end of 2026. Beginning in 2027, the journal will adopt a continuous publication model. Under this model, articles that have successfully completed peer review, editorial evaluation, and production will be published online individually as soon as they are ready for publication, without waiting for the completion of a scheduled issue.

Articles published under the continuous publication model will be assigned to the relevant annual volume and publication structure determined by the journal.

Special issues may also be published in accordance with JOSSA's Special Issue Policy.

The journal accepts manuscripts written in English or Turkish. In order to enhance the international accessibility, visibility, readership, and scientific impact of published research, authors are strongly encouraged to submit manuscripts in English whenever possible.

JOSSA welcomes submissions from researchers worldwide and supports interdisciplinary research that establishes a clear and meaningful connection with sport, exercise, physical activity, or human movement sciences.

The journal primarily publishes:

  • Research Articles

JOSSA provides immediate open access to all published articles and does not charge authors any submission, article processing, peer-review, or publication fees.
