Authorship and Contributorship
Journal of Sports Science Academy (JOSSA) expects that all authors listed meet specific authorship criteria. Anyone who meets the JOSSA criteria for authorship must be included as an author. JOSSA expects all authors to take public responsibility for the content of the paper submitted to the journal.
1. Disclosure of Author Contributions
The contributions of all authors must be outlined in the "Declarations" section of the paper. At the time of submission, all authors must be contacted by email to confirm that they are aware of and approve the submission, its content, and their authorship.,
2. Order of Authors, Credit, and Non-Citation
Academic status or other indicators of power should not determine first authorship. All contributing authors should be credited based on the significance of their contribution to the authorship process.
All individuals who have made a substantive contribution to the intellectual work must be included as authors.
There should be no "ghost" authorship; it is improper to list individuals who have not made a direct contribution to the research or its written outputs.
3. Status of Authors and Institutional Affiliation
The academic status and institutional affiliation of all authors should be clearly indicated in all research materials and outputs.
4. Transparency, Conflict of Interest, and Funders Visibility
Authors are fundamentally obligated to acknowledge and attribute all external sources, whether financial or in-kind, such as organizations or sponsors that have contributed to the research program either directly or indirectly.
Authors must disclose the publication history of articles or books submitted for publication. If a present article or book is substantially similar in content and form to a previously published work, this fact should be noted, and the source of prior publication should be cited.
5. Disagreements Among Authors
In cases of disagreements among authors, JOSSA follows the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) – for more details, refer to COPE Guidelines.
